Hypnotherapy is a therapy that is used to make positive changes within the unconscious mind using the power of suggestion, (also called suggestion therapy). The person receiving hypnotherapy is guided into a hypnotic state by the hypnotherapist and positive suggestion is then used to create change to problematic or undesirable behaviours, habits, and fear-based issues such as anxiety and phobias. Although hypnotherapy is well known and used for issues such as lack of confidence, low self-esteem, weight loss, food control, phobias, insomnia, and other sleep disorders, and widely used as a successful treatment for many other types of mind control issues, such as, pain management, public speaking, exam nerves, sexual issues, memory regression, IBS, migraines and anything that requires some type of mind control. When hypnosis is used and combined with other therapies such as Hypno-analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming it gets to the underlying causes rather than just the presenting problems, so it is important to choose a hypnotherapist that is trained in a variety of therapies. Each person’s issues vary so much and so it’s not a “one suit fits all” The best result always comes from dealing with the underlying causes.
